PARTE 2
- Fasten frame #32 to rearaxle bracket and front motor bracket with aix 1-56 brass screws and hex nuts. Make sure green motor lead is at top as shown. Do not tighten screws completely at this time. |
- With the 2-56 screws and nuts loosened, ad just frame to fit body. Slide frame until distance from center and front axle hole to center of rear axle hole is exactly the size given in drawing. Now tighten all six frame screws completely. Make sure frame is still in same position after tightening screws. |
- Make sure tires are pressed down completely to groove in wheels so that wheels will roll true when they are assembled onto the chassis. See cross section drawing for proper tire seating. NOTE: motor included in this kit may run faster in one direction than the other. This can be determined by running it in both directions, and listening to the sound. Install the crow gear as shown in step 10 or on the other side of the pinion, depending on wich direction your motor operates fastest. |
- Insert the 6-32 headless set screw part way into crown gear and set aside. Thread a 5-40 hex nut onto one end of axle. Next thread a rear wheel with wide tire onto axle until end of axle protrudes 3/16" through hole inside qheel. Thread the hex nut up to the rear face of the wheel. Do not tighten nut at this time. Slip a #5 nylon whell spacer and one of the bronze bearings onto axle with flange end of bearing toward wheel. Hold crown gear in position shown and slide end of axle through hole in frame and trhough hole in opposite side of frame. Rotate bronze bearing until flat side lines up with flat edge of hole in frame and press bearing into hole. |
- Slip remaining bronze bearing onto axle and rotate bearing until it slops into hole in frame. Next slip at #5 nylon wheel spacer onto axle and thread a 5-40 hex nut onto end. Thread remaining wheel with wide tire onto axle. Ad just wheels and hex nuts so that equal amounts of the axle protrude through the wheels. Tighten nuts against wheels making sure that axle spins freely with just a paper thickness of side play to prevent any binding. Now slide crow gear against pinion on motor and tighten set screw. Make certain gears do not mesh too tightly. |
- Thread a 5-40 hex nut out onto end of axle. Next thread a wheel with small tire onto end of axle, until end of axle protrudes 1/8" through hole inside wheel. Thread the hex nut up to the rear face of the wheel. Do not tighten at this time. Slip a #6 and #3 nylon wheel spacer onto axle. Slide axle through holes in front of frame. |
