PARTE 1

- Slip a #3 and #6 nylon wheel spacer onto end of axle and thread 5-40 hex nut onto end. Thread the remainig wheel onto axle and make sure equal amouts of the axle protrude through the wheels. Tighten nuts against back of wheels as before, making sure axle spin freely with slight side play.

- Insert seff-tapping screw into hole in braided pickup contact. Insert screw into hole in top of pickup shoe in tighten down part way only (while leads from motor will be fitted under screw heads later). Repeat with screw and pickup braid on opposite side of pickup shoe. Bend pickup braids down and back over front edge of pickup shoe.

- Slip spacer closest to pickup shoe on nylon tree onto post on pickup shoe. Fit post on pickup shoe through hole a swing pickup arm. Slip flanged bushing onto post on pickup shoe with flange towards top. Insert a 2-56 screw part way into threaded hoke in brass collar and slide collar over post on pickup shoe. Tighten screw to lock collar onto post. Make sure head of screw is toward front of chassis as shown.

- Bring motor leads through frame as shown. Stretch leads out fully and cut then 1-1/2" beyond screws on the pickup shoe. Strip off 1/2" of insulation from ends of leads. Fit exposed wire leads under screw heads on pickup shoe. Tighten screws. If car runs in reverse, switch leads.

- Fasten body mounts #29 and one #30 to chassis. The #29 mount fits both bodies. Two #30 mounts, one for the Ferrari and one for the Ford are included. Use one indicated for the body you will use first. Fasten the #29 body mount to the chassis through round hole in center tab (see illustration Step 18) with one 2-56 screw and hex nut. Fasten the #30 mount desired with two 2-56 screw and hex nuts. Heads of screws shoud be toward bottom of chassis. Do not tighten screws completely at this time. Insert the self-tapping screws into the holes indicated in the mounts. Tighten down the screws and then remove them. This will thread the holes in the mounts making the screws easier to install later. Caution when screw heads are flush with metal, do not tighten further, as you may strip the threads from the hole.

- Set ody onto chassis (see Step 8 for correct chassis lenght) and fasten body to the mounts an chassis with three self-tapping screws. Ajust body so that whells are centered in wheel openings on body and body is not touching wheels. It may be necessary to trim fender openings slightly if proper adjustament cannot be attained. Tighten the three 2-56 screws and nuts witch fasten the mounts to the chassis. Check pickup shoe to make certain exposed pickup wires are not touching each other. Adjust wire leads so that pickup arm will swing freely without hanging up at front of body. See Racing Tips enclosed .HINT-body splits due to racing accidents can be repaired with cellophane tape.
